Colin King was recently awarded a confidential settlement on behalf of a client who was one of heirs of Jacqueline Leavy. Leavy, along with her 2 children, was buried in a landslide which destroyed their Logan home in July 2009.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune: "Sevier County Sheriff Nathan Curtis says a private helicopter crew hired by the family found the wreckage Sunday in a remote area 30 miles southeast of Salina. Authorities have not yet released the victims' identities although the family identified them to the media.

Five Years Ago the Crandall Canyon Mine collapsed trapping and killing six miners. Even though years have passed the Utah mining community is still feeling the pain and loss from that event. KSL reports: "The initial collapse on August 6th trapped Kerry Allred, Luis Hernandez, Brandon Philips, Carlos Payan, Manuel Sanchez and Don Erickson. Ten days later, the mine collapsed again, killing three rescuers: Gary Jensen, Brandon Kimber and Dale "Bird" Black." "It is hard to overstate how big of an impact this has had," said attorney Colin King, who represented the families of the nine families.
